I need help for my science project
Solar energy is an energy source. Except for Nuclear energy, some geothermal energy, and tidal energy it is the primary source. From solar energy we get or has developed:
Planetary Cycles
—Solar energy maintains a higher heat on the surface of our planet than would be otherwise
—The water cycle is driven by solar energy, from this we get hydroelectric power
—Wind is generated by surface temperature differences
—wave action is driven by the wind
All Life
—all green plant life uses solar energy for photosynthesis
—all animal life is dependent upon the energy captured by photosynthesis
—Our bodies manufacture vitamin "D" from solar energy.
We use solar energy for heat and electricity
—Fossil fuels (coal, gas, oil) (heat, industrial processes, transportation)
—Wind (power and transportation: sailing)
—Hydroelectric power
—Wave power
—Solar electric power
—photovoltaic energy
—ground source heat pump energy (heat)
—solar designed homes (heat and hot water)

Power devices in remote locations. Weather stations, radio telephones.
In transporation: offshore navigation buoys, lighthouses, aircraft warning lights on pylons or structures, and increasingly in road traffic warning signals
Provides clean non-polluting energy to power homes.
For batteries, solar power capable. Solar energy can recharge certain devices.
Solar energy heats greenhouses.
Solar hot water systems use sunlight to heat water.
Solar heating, cooling and ventilation technologies can be used to offset a part of this energy.

We have always used solar energy as far back as humans have existed on this planet. We know today, that there are multiple uses of solar energy. We use the solar energy every day in many different ways. When we hang laundry outside to dry in the sun, we are using the solar heat to do work, drying our clothes. Plants use the solar light to make food. Animals eat plants for food. And as we learned, decaying plants hundreds of millions of years ago produced the coal, oil and natural gas that we use today.

It is best when it is not converted to electricity as in providing light during the day in buildings though skylight. That’s simple. Instead of generating electricity and using it to power your lights, just use a skylight.
It is also excellent when you are far away from grid power. It makes no sense to use it when you are close to the grid because it is much more expensive than grid power.
Instead of using a solar panel to provide electricity to run you air conditioner, you may be much better off planting trees to provide some shade on your building. If you don’t have time for trees, you might erect a shade sale.
A major problem with solar energy is the storage.
